Cabin Max Flight Approved Backpack – 5 Stars

Pros: Perfect size, light weight, cheap
Cons: Perhaps not the most stylish piece of hand luggage available.

Speaking from personal experience, we would thoroughly recommend the Cabin Max flight approved backback. Its dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20cm maximise the amount of hand luggage you can take onto the majority of airlines listed below. This is helped by the side straps that can be pulled tight to shrink the bag size as much as possible.

Due to it being a material backpack and not a wheelie case, it is extremely light, which makes it perfect for those airlines that have weight restrictions on cabin luggage.

The 2 pockets at the front are great for holding travel documents, headphones, ipods, keys etc. To top it all off, the thing that makes this bag a must buy is the price. You can pick it up for about £25 from Amazon.

We have taken it on several trips abroad using a variety of the airlines below and think it is great value for money. We even take it away almost empty if we don’t need much hand baggage as it is easy to pack into a case and a great source of additional storage for bringing back all those odds and ends that you pick up while on your holidays.

Luggage Scales Reviews

Design Go Weigh Me Scales –

Design Go Weigh Me Scales Pros: Good build quality, reasonable price
Cons: Probably not as accurate as digital scales

Weighing your luggage before you get to the airport gives you piece of mind that it isn’t going to be over the maximum permitted weight limit and have to be put into the hold at additional cost. Although perhaps not as accurate as digital scales might be, the Design Go Weigh Me Travel Scales are a relatively cheap alternative and are good enough for most people’s needs.

You use the scales by wrapping the weighing cord around your luggage handle and then lifting the scales and attached bag off the ground using the in-built metal handle. The weight of the bag is then recorded on the scales and won’t reset itself until a button on the back of the scales is pressed.

We have used this to weigh both our hand luggage and large cases. When weighing our large suitcase, it came up with a weight of about 31Kg and the airline recorded it as 30. It seems to be more accurate for lower weights and is accurate enough for our needs.

All in all, it’s a well made piece of equipment that we would recommend to the majority of travellers who are looking to try and keep under the baggage weight restrictions for the airline they’re travelling with.
